It is 10.05 am and I’m currently sitting at Sydney airport waiting to board the first leg of my trip to Finland. Feeling curious, excited and a dash of nervous. Okay make that a big scoop of nervous – this is my first time doing a whole month long trip solo.
In fact this is going to be a trip of many ‘firsts’. So in commemoration of this first blog post, here are a few ‘firsts’ that I’m looking forward to:
First time:
- visiting Finland
- going sledding
- going to a Finnish sauna
- trying pulla (traditional Finnish Cardamom bread)
- seeing reindeer in real life
- visiting Finnish, American and Canadian schools to learn about gamified education
- starting my own blog (the time I tried to become a bakefluencer doesn’t count)
- ice swimming (not sure if ‘looking forward to’ is the right phrase for this but hopefully I don’t chicken out)
- visiting Central Park
- sitting in on classes at Columbia University
Okay, there’s the boarding call.
Hei hei! <– that’s Finnish for bye bye (thanks Duolingo)

Keen to hear about your adventures!
